Group
Opportunities, current activity, and ways to work with the lab.
The group brings together manufacturing engineering, process science, experimentation, and application-led problem solving. This page is the starting point for prospective students, visitors, and collaborators who want to understand how the lab works and how to get involved.
Join the Group
The lab is interested in hearing from strong students and researchers who want to work on manufacturing processes, materials behaviour, process innovation, and translation to practice.
- graduate study at MSc and PhD level
- research visits and internships
- postdoctoral and co-supervised research opportunities
- industry-linked and application-facing projects
How to Reach Out
A short, focused email is the best way to start the conversation. The most helpful messages usually include a brief description of your interests and how they connect to the lab’s work.
- a current CV
- a few lines on your research or technical interests
- relevant experience, portfolio, publications, or code
- why you think the fit makes sense

What Work in the Group Looks Like
Projects typically combine theory, experiments, hardware, and analysis. That can mean designing rigs, running process studies, measuring outcomes, interpreting results, and turning those findings into better manufacturing methods.
Typical Ingredients
- mechanism-informed experimentation
- surface and geometry characterisation
- process mapping and optimisation
- materials and component performance assessment
Good Fit Profiles
- students interested in manufacturing systems and process development
- researchers who like experimental work with strong analytical grounding
- people motivated by real engineering applications
- collaborators looking to bridge science and industrial translation
Current Members
This section can be expanded with current students, postdoctoral researchers, visitors, and alumni. Once you send the names, roles, and photos you want included, we can turn it into a proper polished lab roster.
